Asteroid Close Encounter Tomorrow!

Although NASA says there is ‘no chance’ of Asteroid 2012 DA14 hitting Earth tomorrow, this asteroid will pass closer to Earth than our geosynchronous satellite ring. This means this asteroid will be closer to Earth than our very own communications satellites. If you live in the Eastern part of Europe, Asia, or Australia you will be able to see the asteroid with a pair of binoculars. It will be at its closest point to Earth around 12:26 PT. Let’s hope NASA is right and the Earth’s gravity doesn’t suck it in, or that it doesn’t smack a communications satellite – or worse yet the moon, on its way out of our system.
